Re: 200NL, 77, and this is why i don\'t move up
just think this hand through street by street, what were you trying to accomplish on each street and HOW. THen focus on the river last. what was this trying to accomplish? how do you normally play a hand that you want them to fold? (bc u obviously arent betting for value) Is your opponent capable of folding ... etc

I actually think you might have folded the best hand on the river. Your bets need to be bigger to force your opponent into a tough decision.

Re: 200NL, 77, and this is why i don\'t move up
I'd c/f river, possibly c/c but on this board I really wouldn't want to make a hero call with so many different possibilities of being beat. The river bet is pretty bad I think, what are you trying to accomplish? Seems like you just don't want to check and face a big bet from a busted draw so you bet and hope they're too scared to raise you.
Also, bet more on every street. |

Re: 200NL, 77, and this is why i don\'t move up
i think you can only make these halfpotish bets against good/better players who can respekt. against bad players they might see duurrr small bet durr i raise.
i don't think you have the best hand on the river though. he minraised after you bet three streets he's either looking for a call or is just terrible. the river bet is pretty meh, he can easily call with a marginally better hand and you're not getting value out of a busted flush. |

Re: 200NL, 77, and this is why i don\'t move up
I would seriously consider calling the raise on the end. This looks more like a missed draw the more I look at it. T9 is really the only other thing that makes sense, and why wouldn't he raise more? I mean, your line looks a lot like you have a draw, and yet he's not raising you flop or turn with those draws on the board. Now he's minraising the river as if it hit him, but how? Smells fishy. Smells like 65.

Re: 200NL, 77, and this is why i don\'t move up
i dunno, why are you raising 77 in the sb? doesn't most of the value from 77 come from sets? wouldn't you want to keep a lot of people in the pot to cooler? aren't you in a terrible position 84% of the time postflop?

Re: 200NL, 77, and this is why i don\'t move up
Why bet so little on the river? 24 into 90 dollar pot, i think you gave away your hand a bit. I call since its only a river min raise but you most likely are behind. He probably had 9j or 9 10
