I generally prefer my isolation moves with fewer people to act behind me. You have a relatively big stick in relation to most of the other stacks at the table. Maybe this a case of wielding it too strongly? I think I call here, but given the right table reads, I could be persuaded to come over the top with a re-raise.
Did you have any reads on MP1? What was the status of the tourney? This might have been a better question had you stopped the hand history at your pre-flop action. |

Dunno if it's a donk move, but I wouldn't do it. I know you say you were looking to isolate, but why?? You've got a huge stack, basically you are risking it all trying to pick up an extra 1000. I'm saying that because you have plenty of players behind you,and anyone calling you will either have you crushed or AK,and there are also a couple of big stacks left to act. What if button picks up a monster here?
You haven't said anything about previous play, tells etc,and that should influence what you do,but just looking at the stacksizes and the fact that you have a marginal hand,I'd say you made the wrong move here.Call and then re-evaluate.If BB shoves, you can easily fold here,if he just calls, you've got position in what's a pretty good flop for your hand. |
