NL25 FR: does anyone just call this c/r ?
Poker Stars
No Limit Holdem Ring game Blinds: $0.10/$0.25 8 players Converter Stack sizes: UTG: $13.90 UTG+1: $27.70 MP1: $23 MP2: $13.50 CO: $18.40 Button: $9.50 SB: $14.40 Hero: $25 villain is unkonwn shortstack. Does anyone think just calling the check raise is more profitable than shoving here? If so why? I'm figuring if I hit my action dries up so I shove laying about 2 to 1 odds on a nut flush draw.. Pre-flop: (8 players) Hero is BB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 6 folds, SB calls, Hero raises to $1, SB calls. Flop: J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($2, 2 players) SB checks, Hero bets $1.5, SB raises to $4, Hero raises all-in $24, SB calls all-in $9.4. Uncalled bets: $10.6 returned to Hero. |

I shove laying about 2 to 1 odds on a nut flush draw [/ QUOTE ] i have no clue where you are coming up with your numbers. assuming he will call, shoving means you are risking $11.90 to win $16.90. this is no where near 2 to 1. anyway, i think you have fold equity here so i do not mind shoving with a nut draw. |

Re: NL25 FR: does anyone just call this c/r ?
You obviously have very little fold equity is this situation. Hes pot committing himself and will call her shove almost every time. THerefore you are risking about 12 dollars to win about 29 ( someone check my math, im tired). So you need roughly 12/29= 41-43% to push vs his range. So basically one of yourovercards has to be good, i.e. he cant have twopair/set or the flush. If you dont put him on these hands, then a push isnt too bad of a play. You could also just call his flop bet, which I kind of like better than pushing. You have to be prepared to fold the turn if you dont hit one of your overcards or your flush and the shortstack pushes.

laying 2 to 1 [/ QUOTE ] Well thats what I was thinking during the hand lol. You're right, way off. All night sessions are -EV in the 10th hour... I'd guess I'm in one of two scenarios with this guy. A) I have some fold equity and hes not a complete moronic shortstacker or B) I have no fold equity in which case my A and Q outs are live sometimes so the push is more of a 12 out draw In either case pushing > calling > folding correct? |

Re: NL25 FR: does anyone just call this c/r ?
I like shove.
No reason to think his range is just 2pair/sets, so seems like correct play |
