Default How To Steal The Blinds

I have a track record of either getting cards and going deep in tournaments or being card dead and going no where. One problem is that I do not steal the blinds until I am short stacked and stealing to stay alive with all in moves. I need to steal more often to aviod getting short stacked.

What are the optimal situations to steal the blinds while my stack is still healthy? (position, etc.)

How much should I lower my hand requirements on a steal?

Do I use the standard 3x raise to steal?

Any advice from successful theifs out there would be great! Thanks.

The Hand dosn't matter much a)never steal from short stacks
b)never do it when blinds are small - not worth it.
c)you have to have tight image on table, never steal if you come to new table.
d)you have to know opponents image
e) Get Lucky.

What would be the best image to steal from? I am assuming a passive player who has folded on the blinds before. Anything else?

F) 3.5-4xBB is optimal for me as I've usually got a TAG image and show 10s+, if required, with the bigger raises. You have to have some time at that table before you start this and avoid the LAGS!!!

If you have some chips there's nothing too wrong about raising every pot from the button, co, and co+1 when it's folded to you. Super short stacks can't hurt you. Ignore anyone with less than your raise size, you'll suckout enough. The people you want to worry about are those with 2-3 times your raise size since you'll be committed if they push.

A lot of times in tourneys with a lot of short stacks 2.5x bb raises will work as well as 3x.
