Another MGM ruling
Playing $1/$2 w/99 in MP, I RFI w/ 99 to $15. I get a LP caller as well as the BB. Flop comes T76. BB pushes all in for $150. I flod after a few seconds and flash my 99 to the all in player. Dealer annonces exposed cards and turns them over for the LP player to see. LP eventually mucks (after about 2 minutes). I apologized to the raiser for ruining any action he may have gotten on the hand, he just shrugs and tells me not my fault the dealer is an idiot.

Re: Another MGM ruling
Dealer was an idiot.
Player was all in and so had no more decisions to make. So he gained no immediate edge by seeing your cards. Other player did have a decision to make, and might have benefited by seeing your cards. Dealer should have set your cards aside and exposed them to the table after the action was complete. Not too thrilled with you either. |

Re: Another MGM ruling
Obviously your cards were not supposed to be shown to players with action pending, since the only one who saw them was all-in. A swift kick in the nuts is in order here for the dealer.

Re: Another MGM ruling
I saw something just like this at MGM once. EXACTLY like this. Three are in to the turn. On the river first position goes all-in. Next guy shows his cards to that player and mucks. Other player screams "SHOW ONE SHOW ALL--SHOW ME THOSE CARDS!" and the dealer proceeds to chastise the player who showed the cards and explain that yes, now she HAD to turn those cards over. I stopped her and explained why she should not do that. She just said "show one show all...it's a rule". I tell her "you need to call the floor" and turn to the all-in guy and ask if he'd like to call the floor. Before he can answer she says "I don't need the floor, that's the rule" and flips the cards over.
If I'd been the all-in guy, there woulda been dealer blood on the floor. As is, I was just an interloper who probably shoulda kept his yap shut in the first place. |

Re: Another MGM ruling
I dealt that hand, and admit I made a mistake. I'm usually the one people go to for advice on what is the right ruling and so on....but was extremely tired ( last down of the night, and working day after my bday party )....I forgot the player was all in when someone showed cards, so I exposed them to both players. Just a first reaction to flip the cards up when someone shows them. My mistake.
