NL25-Flopped Set on Monochrome Board
Villain was 17/17/5 after only 35 hands. I figured I would flat call rather than 3-bet because not only does he raise a wide range but he's most likely stealing, I have position, etc. etc.
Do you like raising the flop here or do you like to wait and get aggressive with any non-diamond turn? Re: NL25-Flopped Set on Monochrome Board
Seems like raising is the play, you have to charge him to draw at the flush.
If you flat call you MIGHT get him to bet a weaker hand like top pair again, but he might get scared and shut down so I think i'd rather get paid the times hes drawing than hope to get paid a little the times he's willing to bet TP again. Of course if he pushes then we have a tough decision... |

I would raise the flop and hope that he thinks you are trying to steal. I'd also hope he's not holding diamonds. lol.

Okay, I decided to just call. Now I got what I wanted. Is a push here too extreme or do we raise this to $13 or so?

Re: NL25-Flopped Set on Monochrome Board
I think I like pushing. If you raise you are commited to the pot anyway so I think you might as well push as I think you might actually get called by more hands because it might look like you are pushing with just the K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] because you just called the flop.
Hopefully he didn't flop a flush, but if he did you still have some outs so hopefully you can suck out. I don't think just calling is terrible here either, he did bet out at you twice so he doesn't seem all that scared so slowing down might be OK too. |

I agree with CazicT.
I like pushing. That written, I don't mind a call. Unfortunately, a diamond kills you on the river. Villain does not seem as scared of the flush as I would want, but he probably doesn't put you on one. He'd do this with a few hands you beat. |
