folding the nuts on the flop
I'm just starting omaha, i'm one of those crossovers from hold'em. I had this hand, and I think I played it badly. Any help is appreciated. I don't have the hand info, because I didn't think about it until after I left the table, but anyway...
Blinds $.10/.25, i have $20 in front of me. I am on the button with QhQc9c6d. There are 4 limpers to me. I limp. Flop is 10h 8h 7d. The small blind bets .25 (why do people do this? it pisses me off...usually they have a draw and they want to see the turn cheaply.) The big blind calls. One of the limpers makes a pot raise. Because I have no redraws, should I just fold here? I think I win half the pot at best if I don't get outdrawn. I ended up calling and then folding on the turn when the third heart came and someone bet. Thanks, ~Bux |

Re: folding the nuts on the flop
You don't have the temporary nuts, so folding would be prudent here.

Re: folding the nuts on the flop
You don't have the nuts, you have the second nuts.
You have one redraw to the nuts with 3 non-heart jacks. At the 10c/25c level it's hard to say whether you're straight is good here for sure, but it would definitely be in your best interests and longevity to fold this to the pot size bet without much of a second thought. And yes, when the heart hits, easy fold. No problems there. |
