Man charged in dice game kidnapping
Revenge rendezvous for $20,000 loss goes awry

The bad luck continues for a Milwaukee man who is believed to have lost $20,000 in a rigged craps game and botched an attempt to kidnap the guy who scammed him, before getting fired upon by an undercover federal agent.

Now he faces a multitude of criminal charges.

Fredrick T. Woods, 31, is accused of kidnapping William Green at gunpoint after losing the money gambling in Green's basement and learning later that Green had rigged the dice, according to a criminal complaint filed Sunday.

The Valentine's Day episode ended near a west side elementary school that went into a lockdown as parents and neighbors wondered what was going on.

According to the criminal complaint:

Woods told police that Green was a "big time gambler" who ran craps in his home near N. 82nd St. and W. Grantosa Ave. several times a week and who demanded that players have $10,000 cash to get into the game.

Woods said he'd gambled there at least four times in recent months, then walked into a game Feb. 13 with $20,000 in his pocket, all of which he lost in a few hours. The next day, after learning Green was using "bad dice," Woods called Green, who is said to have admitted to cheating. Green begged Woods not to tell other players and agreed to meet Woods at N. Teutonia Ave. and W. Capitol Drive to return the $20,000.

Woods and a friend identified only as "Meatball" drove to the rendezvous spot, where they waited in Meatball's black Chevrolet Cavalier.

When Green pulled up in his Jaguar, Woods - a gun showing in his waistband - approached and ordered Green into the passenger seat.

As they drove, with Meatball tailing them, Woods rifled though Green's pockets and allowed Green to call several people to drum up the $20,000, the complaint says.
Agent gets plea

The complaint further states that one of the people whom Green called went to the police and reported that Green had said he would be killed if he didn't get the money. Green also called an undercover U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration agent, the complaint says.

"They got me," Green is said to have told the agent. "They want twenty grand, and they got a gun to my head."

Jim Bohn, assistant special agent in charge of the DEA's Milwaukee office, would not comment Monday on the agent's relationship with Green for fear of compromising the undercover agent's identity.

According to the complaint, Woods ditched the Jaguar and forced Green into Meatball's Chevy, where the two men bound Green's wrists and covered his eyes with duct tape, to show that Woods "was serious."

Woods snatched Green's gold necklace and diamond-studded playing card pendant, while Meatball punched Green in the mouth, pulled off Green's diamond-encrusted watch and urged Woods to kill him, Green told police.

By then the three had returned to Green's neighborhood, the complaint says. Woods pulled over to scope out Green's house and got out of the car. By that time, police and the DEA agent had arrived. It was around 1 p.m.

Once Woods got out, Green was able to peel the tape off and fight his way out of the car, getting past Meatball. Green ran down Grantosa Ave. right past the DEA agent, with Woods and Meatball chasing behind, the complaint says.

Woods raised his gun at the agent, Woods told police, thinking the agent was one of Green's henchmen, at which point the agent fired once at Woods. The shot hit the ground between Woods' legs.

Green told investigators the agent shouted "Police! Freeze!" before shooting.

Nearby, Grantosa Drive School went into lockdown mode for an hour while police searched the area. Woods ran into a neighborhood nearby and was found and arrested a short time later.

Woods faces charges of false imprisonment, possession of a firearm by a felon, endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon and bail jumping. If convicted of all counts, he would face more than 32 years in prison and $55,000 in fines.

Why would he be proud when hes facing charges of false imprisonment, possession of a firearm by a felon, endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon and bail jumping. Hell, if hes convicted of all counts, he would face more than 32 years in prison and $55,000 in fines.

Just to be clear in case it wasn't in my last post - I'm implying that Two Rooks is one of the involved parties here.

(Though I guess he's morelikely to be the guy that weighted the dice and conned the 20K than the guy who lost it.)
