Ideal ITM% for MTT\'s?
Serious question here. Feel free to respond with "100%" though because that will be really funny.
Obviously it depends on field size, blind structure and payout scale, so lets just assume.. *Stars payout scale *1200 entry It seems like 14-17% is rather standard for a good player with a + ROI, but there are quite a few players who ITM ~ around 10-13% (even 8 or 9% in some cases) who have huge ROI's and more often than not, much higher than those who are ITM in the 15-18% range. So ideally, it would seem that you want to have a low-teen's ITM% over one in the high-teens. Like a gobboboy, shaundeeb, thay3r who are all under 14% and under vs. someone like EvilDrSluggo (no disrespect) who is at 17%, but with much lower(yet still great) ROI than the aforementioned MTT studs.

depends on whether you llike to "crumb" into the $$, or are playing to win. those with lower itm %'s but higher roi, usually have a larger stack come bubble time, and can exploit that for a run to ft.

This is like looking at the symptom, and ignoring the disease...play well, be aggressive on the money/FT/other significant bubbles --> higher FT % --> more profit.

check out the official poker rankings site and look at the ITM stats for the top players. that should give you a good idea of what to shoot for. also FT% and top 3% is way more important than ITM %.

If you are ITM 20% of the time but top 3% .0001%, you're either Tony Cousineau or are playing more to make the $ rather than win. What is that breaking point though? It will vary of course. zangbezan24(Imper1um) is a beast and maintains a 16-17% ITM rate but for us "human" players, it would seem 12-14% is ideal.
