Default NL500 - Flopped set vs. flush draw

A friend sent me this hand to look at, and it confused me. Did Hero make any mistakes here? Villain appears to have odds to call down with his FD, but Hero's bets sizes seem reasonable vs. his likely range.

Also, what's the best play on the river here - or is it a foregone conclusion that it's going in?

No read on Villain, other than he is not good, not terrible.

fold preflop, that way you lose the least money when a guy makes his flush on the river.

I'd probably pot flop and/or turn on this sort of board

you don't have to worry too much about how you play vs the nut flush draw, unless you are planning on not putting a $ in unless the flush hits, becuase usually all the money goes in vs a flush draw anyway (if its not on flop, then on turn whether it hit or not).

That said, I'd bet the flop bigger because you want to play your hand really fast on an action-board like this.

if you just pot pot, you kind of withdraw the chance for people to bluff / semi-bluff raise you

if you pot people are more likely to semi-bluff their draws in stead of calling with them

and people bluffraising these types of boards is very rare

Played okay, but I see no need to bet out on the river. You're not going to bet a weak made flush out and the likelihood of a worse hand calling is small IMO. If hero checks and BTN shoves it does get kinda grey though. Without any kind of reads I'd probably throw it away to a shove.

you wouldn't bet a small flush on the river? :SSSSSSSSS

Id probably bet AA, maybe even like JQ against some.

I'd bet like $35 on flop but that is no big [censored] deal. Turn bet is good. As played on river... I would bet a smallish amount where I can bet/fold because villain isn't shoving worse here IMO. I woulnd't have bet enough to committ myself, and when he shoves, you can at least save $67 getting even those odds because its def sure that villain has flush or straight. So bet a bit less on riv, maybe bet/fold for $100.
