Default 2NL: JJ from BB

I played the following hand in today's session:

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.02 BB (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

UTG ($2.63)
UTG+1 ($1.38)
MP1 ($1.24)
MP2 ($5.04)
MP3 ($3.34)
CO :#A500AF(Villain)/ ($5.56)
Button ($5.49)
SB ($5.62)
Win.by.TKo ($3.47)

Preflop: Win.by.TKo is BB with J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, UTG+1 calls $0.02, <font color="#666666">3 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">CO : Villain raises to $0.2</font>, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, Win.by.TKo calls $0.18, UTG+1 folds.

Flop: ($0.43) 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
Win.by.TKo checks, <font color="#CC3333">Villain bets $0.4</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Win.by.TKo raises to $1</font>, Villain calls $0.60.

Turn: ($2.43) Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
Win.by.TKo checks, Villain checks.

River: ($2.43) 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Win.by.TKo bets $0.5</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Villain raises to $2.5</font>, Win.by.TKo calls $1.77 (All-In).

Final Pot: $7.20

Villain is 44.4/8.64/.04 (81) Today is the first time I faced this player. Even with his aggressiveness preflop, how far should I have gone with these Jacks?

Results in white:

I've never play 2NL but i think a 10BB PFR is often a premium hand. I like your c/r on the flop, but it is too small and a call would have done aswell. You're just too deep, and QQ+ is likely. And if he's doing this with AK, he probably wont fire the turn. The river call is spew. All you beat is TT.

Thanks for the opinion.

I am never really sure when a c/c is better than a c/r. As played, I knew that calling r/r on river was probably horrible, but $1.77 into $5.43 (3:1) made me call. This seems to be my worst leak, and one of my reasons I'm still at 2NL; a small bankroll &lt; $150 being the other.

What would be a good c/r amount on flop?

I "good" c/r imo would've been one that is close to a PSB: $1.3-1.6

Also now that I read what I've just wrote, I'm not so sure anymore, the massive overraise preflop, such deep stacks and this being NL2 make this hand very unconventional. So pls treat my "advice" cautiously.

Anyway, this is not the spot where i want to play for a 150BB stack OOP, this is why i would have taken a more conservative route and tried to keep the pot smaller.

If you are going to check-raise, make it like 3 times his bet. Your check-raise gave him pretty good calling odds. With an overpair I dont really like to check flop anyways, a free turn card can bring trouble.
