1st hand after moving to table w/ AJ in BB facing a raise
Stars $5 MTT - 1000 players (320 left, 135 paid)
I feel like I am in these spots a lot, and not really sure what to do without reads. Just call? Do I ever just fold against unknowns? PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t150 (9 handed) internettexasholdem.com MP2 (t3430) MP3 (t8205) CO (t6445) Button (t3425) SB (t1530) Hero (t5275) UTG (t3445) UTG+1 (t2490) MP1 (t2335) Preflop: Hero is BB with A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. 3 folds, MP2 raises to t450, 1 fold, CO calls t450, 2 folds, Hero ???. |

easy fold, don't overthink it. AJo is a [censored] hand; MP2 is committed and isn't going anywhere with AQ, AK, or pairs. Readless, fold. Wait for a better spot.

Re: 1st hand after moving to table w/ AJ in BB facing a raise
barry, were getting more than 3-1 to call here when our m is 24, I know were out of position but folding when were getting 3.3-1(ish) with AJ to a standard middle position raise is a bit nittish for me. Readless Im calling here like 100% of the time, and Im re raising if I know that hes opened light before and obviously folding to any reraise. villain has still got an m of over 10 post flop so i wouldnt say hes necessarily committed either. Folding isnt terrible obviously, but this guys range when folded to in middle position has got to be big enough for us to call given the pot odds.

Also, we're OOP, so it's hard to figure out where we stand after the flop, and we have a very easily dominated hand. We may win small pots when we flop an A or J, but if a big pot gets going we're gonna be on the short end pretty much always. |
