Default New Deep Stack Tournies on Poker Stars thoughts?

I don't know how long these have been on there 5000 chips and 30 min blind levels, but they seem like great tourneys.

Any thoughts on strategies for the extra big starting stacks?

I personally would think that you should be very selective in your hands to start with and really punish people with your monster hands. I watched a 20+2 and it seems like a lot of people play even looser in these things like raising 16BB with AJo and people reraising to 80BBs with AKo.

I would think people would play more conservative, but it looks like people play these fairly loosely.

Would the proper strategy be to try and limp with every kind of drawing hand possible, ie. suited, or one-holers?

theres no 'proper' strategy. play how you want to play, play what you're good at. If you're good at lagging it up, you have the stack to do that. If you're a good nut peddler, you have the stack to wait around, and people suck, so they'll pay you off.

They sound good in theory....but I don't want to sit there for 10 hours. More than 3x the stack size- and double the blind levels. This could take forever.

yea, they take a while. But i'm pretty confident a good player in these could have an astronomical ROI/ITM. It's a great great structure.

Which tourneys are "big stacks", and at what limits?

Thanks

Being a good NL cash game player would give you a huge edge in these, because most tournament donkeys- as bad as they already are- are even worse with deep stacks.

I have always stood by the fact that Stars, while they did a great thing, went WAY WAY overboard with this idea. t3000 or so with 20 or 30 minute levels would have been good and wouldn't have taken 13 hours to finish. I think all the lower buy in ones during the week should be 20 min levels or less chips and the $100 should be the current format, and maybe add a $200 or $300 as well with the current format.

I've only played one, but I had forever and nothing to do, so it was a blast.

If I had stuff to do , it may not have been that awesome.
