99 straight draw on flop
Villain is 22/19/4, i have a standard TAG image. What are the merits or calling here and raising/getting it in? Anyone like a bet/3-bet instead? Thanks

Re: 99 straight draw on flop
Seems like a standard cont bet from villain but i would just call here and re-evaluate on the turn. Raising on this flop doesnt accomplish ne thing ev wise. Ur opening urself up to being bluffed out, not to mention the fact that ur building a big pot oop with a hand thats not worth protecting. If u raise and he shoves ur in a very bad spot b/c u have no idea where u are in the hand, are likely crushed, and uve priced urself in to call . Also if u raise to like 220 or so and he calls what are u going to do oop on the turn when an 8,9, q, k, or a comes? Its gonna be very hard to represent any of those cards when uve raised the flop, and easy for villian to steal the pot from u with a decent sized bet. This is a highly connected board and theres no reason to beef this pot up with 2nd pair and an open-ender.
Just call here, hope u catch a J or 6 and if villian is aggressive ull prob induce a bluff by checking ur turned str8. A half pot bet on the turn, if the j or 6 come, is also a good bet b/c it might prompt an all-in bluff from ur opponent. If turn comes a rag like 2,3,4,5 i would definately consider c/c and then folding to a 3rd barrel on the river. Leading on this flop is the best line b/c most opponents wont float u with overs on this board without some kind of str8 draw. If u want to be tricky u can bet flop and check-shove turn on ne card that comes. At that point the board should be scary enough that ur opponent will fold nearly his entire range on the turn, including any 10 and possibly some weak two pairs. |
