AQ - flopped A but raised on turn
Full Tilt 0.50/1 Hold'em (5 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)
Preflop: Hero is BB with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. 2 folds, Button raises, 1 fold, Hero 3-bets, Button caps, Hero calls. Turn: (7.75 BB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero bets, Button raises, Hero calls. River: (11.75 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero checks, Button bets, Hero calls. Final Pot: 13.75 BB I raised the flop to see whether I was against AA, AK or KK. Should I fold against his turn raise ? I must admit that he would be very agressive to play like this with a pocket pair like TT, JJ, QQ or AJ/AT... |

I raised the flop to see whether I was against AA, AK or KK. Should I fold against his turn raise ? [/ QUOTE ] Dont raise for info. Its way overrated. I think I need a read that he is LAGgy or spewy to play it like you. If he is a small stakes nit I play it WA/WB |

Re: AQ - flopped A but raised on turn
wa/wb holla
you don't want to lose extra to his AK KK AA and scare him off of TT JJ QQ you didn't give a read though and his range could certainly be wider, but you crush most of those hands |

Re: AQ - flopped A but raised on turn
If you play it like this, I think you have to fold to the turnraise.
But, as the others said, it is better to just call down. |

Re: AQ - flopped A but raised on turn
just call the flop and let him keep betting worse hands. If he has a worse hand your flop c/r and lead at the turn probably folds him out, and you actually lose bets.
Raising for information out of position with a hand you are usually taking to showdown is typically a pretty bad play. |

Re: AQ - flopped A but raised on turn
raising for information is almost always (always always?) a bad play, but if you're going to do it then at least use the information you get
in this case, fold to the turn raise because he definately has you crushed |

Re: AQ - flopped A but raised on turn
Folding the turn would be bad bad. It's a blind war vs. an unknown and you flopped an ace. Villain showing up with AJ or AT or another AQ would not shock me in the least.

Re: AQ - flopped A but raised on turn
against a button capper wouldn't c/c-c/c-donk/call be a better line? Or donk/fold on the river, depends on read.

Re: AQ - flopped A but raised on turn
It's probably been said, but I don't raise this hand anywhere after the flop.
