2/4 nl on FTP (6 handed).
Table is playing typical I guess. Nothing too extreme by anyone. A decent amount of 3betting preflop but no one seems to have gotten out of line. Been at table for about 3 orbits or so. Stacks are about $420. CO opens to $14, BT calls, and I call from the BB with A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. ($44) Flop comes A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. It gets checked around. ($44) Turn is 4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. I bet $40, CO calls and BT folds. ($124) River is 2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. How is my line? What would be done differently up to this point? How often are we ahead come river? Please assign a range for CO taking into account his line.... |

Personally I fold that garbage preflop when out of position. Put you on the button after a raiser and a caller and now you have a decent spot to enter the hand.
The flop check is fine as is the turn bet though it could have been a slight bit smaller (like $35). I'd put the CO on something like AQ or AJ with one diamond making him not so scared of losing the pot if another diamond comes on the turn so a check would be fine on the flop. If he had AK (or a set) he probably would have bet the flop to prevent a cheap 1 card diamond draw. I'd say you are likely ahead here. Whether or not to bet the river depends on if CO is aggressive enough to try to push you off on this 4 to straight board (though a 5 in his hand is unlikely) and whether or not he'd actually call a river bet with top pair here. |

Weak/med ace, Kx, QJ with a diamond. ?????
I think we are ahead alot on the river, a5 now beats us and that's about it. |

I VB river. We are ahead of his range here and I don't think he's very likely to VB worse hands or bluff if we check to him.

I feel like I'm being paranoid - did he flop it? Rule that out; I stick about 60-70 in and see what he does.

Line is okay, considering your position.
I think you're ahead on the river a lot of the time, I'd value bet about 80, because we get called by A9+, KQ, KJ, maybe even 99+. Checking river to induce bluff is option, but it looks like he wants to show down his hand, based on his turn call of your pot sized bet. W/O stats or read on CO, range is like 77+, A9+, KJ+ Standard open raise from CO is pretty wide. His call on the turn indicates a piece, maybe like 99 w/ 9d. You'd think he'd lead this flop w/ Top 2 or a set because of the diamonds. He might have something like slowplayed QJd but c'mon. |

cheeeeck call. [/ QUOTE ] Reasoning? If your plan is to check call I like a bet fold much more. You really think he is betting enough hands that we beat/bluffs? |

i think the most likely hands for the CO is a weak Ace like A5-A9, or a hand like a king with like the jack of diamonds
i definitely just fold this preflop to a raise whether Im OOP or in position. Ace rag sucks. as played i would definitely valuebet the river for a little more than half the pot. he probably has a hand that he will call, but will not bet himself. If you get raised, its an easy fold, and just take a note that he is a slowplayer/trapper |
