Default AA line on paired board

Hand was played a while ago at Bay 6/12 game

This is the 3rd or 4th hand at the table, so no reads on me or on other players, basically. BB is a woamn in her 30s, has played I think a hand or two since I sat down, so probably loose.

I raise black AA early.

A late position cold calls, BB calls.

3 ways flop: QQ4r
I bet, LP fold, BB raises, I call.

2 way turn: 7 completing rainbow
BB bets, and I call, planning to raise any river?

bigbadbabar.. can you explain the difference between raising on the turn, and raising on the river? it seems like the same thing to me because the board is dry. The two options will win you or lose you the same amount of money too.

I'd just calldown. If you do raise the river you gotta fold to a 3 bet.

From the few live games I've played where practically nobody raises, this is Qx a lot, but not often enough that I want to fold. I'd just call down.

There is one and only one way to play this hand.

Reraise the flop, bet the turn, and take a free showdown.

I've played quite a bit of live games, and people bluff soooo much less often. This is almost always a queen here - but people in the live game are also very very passive. Most players I've played with would just check/call-down with KQ here if you 3 bet it. Raising the river or the turn against the average small stakes player is just spew.

Notice that raising the flop to take a free showdown saves you 1 SB.

You must not play live much????? Oh wait.. eskimo are you still < 18? (Serious question, because I vaguely remember you being young)

Raising river or turn is fine if you can fold to a 3bet. I actually prefer raising the river so I can catch my A on river just in case..

The women playing the Bay 6/12 are usually aggro enough especially compared to the old white nits (OWN.. ) that get into the game from time to time. Most every person in that place will wait until the turn to raise a Q.

Adam, which lady was this?

BTW, they just hired a new chip runner that is amazingly HAWT!!!!
