$100NL - Queens on button vs possible resteal attempt
Villain is 35/17 over 79 hands Flop AF of 8.
I thought the best play would be to 4-bet here but a friend of mine thought calling and shoving a non-A or K flop would have greater value. Thoughts? Thanks in advance. ----------------------------------- Full Tilt Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.50/$1 Blinds - 5 Players SB: $85.25 BB: $102.10 UTG: $102.60 CO: $109.10 Hero (BTN): $119.40 Preflop: Hero is dealt Q Q (5 Players) 2 folds, Hero raises to $3.50, SB raises to $14.00, BB folds, Hero ???? |

If you 4-bet you have to call a shove correct?
so then would it not be better to 4bet shove yourself rather than let him be the shover? |

Your friend line seems good vs a restealer.

I like a call here. If villain is 3-betting you with a lot of marginal holdings, we don't want to fold those out. Calling allows villain to fire more money in with a c-bet, and possibly even more if he catches a piece of the flop.

Re: $100NL - Queens on button vs possible resteal attempt
If you can find a copy of super systems the bible of poker, there is a really good section on playing high pairs, even a section just for playing QQ's and QQ's only. If you raise and either a A or K hit the flop you will slow down. As what Claunchy says says. Calling looks like your hand isn't overly strong and will promote a possible CBet from villian. Calling is the right play for you here.

Re: $100NL - Queens on button vs possible resteal attempt
One question I have is, is this a good line because of how short the opponent is? Is there a difference between choosing this line of play when the opponent and yourself are more deepstacked?

Re: $100NL - Queens on button vs possible resteal attempt
Hmmmm.... He's only a 35/17. I'd give him a little bit of credit. I call and get it in on a non ace flop. If he shoves first, I can get away and find a better spot. There's only $29 in the pot at that point. He's obvy throwing pot control to the wind. If he flops a set or an ace, good for him, else, good for us.

as for the k-high flop, feel it out and don't be afraid to get in his face.
