Hero (SB): $447.00 BB: $413.00 UTG: $405.50 CO: $637.80 BTN: $1,026.50 Preflop: Hero is dealt A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (5 Players) UTG raises to $16.00, CO folds, BTN calls $16.00, Hero calls $14.00, BB folds Flop: ($52) K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 Players) Hero checks, UTG bets $36.00, BTN folds, Hero raises to $105.00 I called because BN was a huge fish like 47/25. UTG is retarded, but not really at 33/17. is cold calling fine preflop? what about the CR? |

Re: Butchered AK.
they are both bad, so you need to raise, especially because you are out of position and it will be more difficult to get value when you are ahead postflop vis a vis when you are behind it will be easy to get taken to V-town.

Re: Butchered AK.
preflop is good postflop you need to just cc cr is ridic unlss you know he plays draws way too fast or you have some sick image, neither which is necessarily the case which means cr'ing is one of those overplaying one pair hands and turning them into a bluff type things

Re: Butchered AK.
baluga - well the thing is, i didn't want to play a big pot OOP b/c both of them had insane call cbet values (both over 50%). if I miss I basically have to give up, but should I go ahead and try to hit that 33% of the time anyway?
ship - lol why the new sn? and yeah i see what you're saying, thanks |

Re: Butchered AK.
Baluga is abolutely right!
Why are you c/r? what worse hand calls? kj/kt. Now you have a hard time folding against AA/QQ/kq.Which are definately in his range. |

Re: Butchered AK.
PF can go either way but with AK I like a raise. In position call is good but OOP a RR is a must I think. Many will call flop CBs light when pot is raised to 4BBs but in a RR pot, donks are usually folding unless they hit top pair + since they look at pure dollar amounts and will fold 75%+ of the time.

Re: Butchered AK.
pf doesnt matter but the fact that they call 50% of cbets is more closely related to regular pots than 3bet pots...
i bump this up pf vs fish and lags like these two and keep the lead as long as it seems reasonable against a good tag utg i usually just call and c/c or vbet as the situation merits as played im rarely if ever raising this flop for reasons already mentioned... |

Re: Butchered AK.
so basically you guys cb then give up if you didn't hit. (assuming we jack this up pf)

Re: Butchered AK.
it depends
if they both come along and we miss, then probably no cbet if one comes along and we miss, we probably cbet. |
