Default the Billy Packer of Golf is....

Johnny Miller...

reminds me of Billy Packer during the NCAA tourney...

consistent critical comments
always knows the perfect "play"
consistent "Monday morning quarterback" type sh*t

He made some comments about Furyk making poor decisions and shots that he will remember for the rest of his life...he critques a "bad shot" and will find something wrong with the swing or approach everytime (easy to do when you're in the booth looking at slow-motion swing vision")

the truth Oakmont is a tough golf course and Johnny Milller needs to shut up

Johnny speaks in absolutes about what a player is thinking way too much. I love it when he talks absolutely about whats going to happen to a ball or what a player should do, the ball doesn't do that or the player hits a good shot w/ out doing what Johnny said and he silently looks stupid. I also hate him doing the US open because he gets to perform personal fellatio for 4 days straight for his 63.

Johnny Miller is a great analyst. For a terrible golf analyst, see Lanny Wadkins.

I love Miller when he's not trying to read too much into how a guy swallows and what that says about his mental state.

Abso-frickin-lutely. Actually I feel kinda bad for Lanny, he seems like a nice guy and it must suck to get fired and replaced with Nick Faldo like that.

Other than the players - GOD FORBID Miller have a critical opinion - I can't understand why anyone would dislike Johnny Miller. It's borderline unamerican.

I like Miller. He said something like, "At this moment, Ben Hogan has officially rolled over in his grave." when Phil hit that ball off the tent last year, which was classic.

I do think that "Appeal to Maltbie" is some kind of canonical logical fallacy, though; as in, "He needed to play that a couple feet outside the hole, huh, Rog?"

Maltbie (short for Malt Beverage) has to quickly swallow that last gulp of beer before responding, and he's never going to disagree with Miller, so what's the point?

^^Amen...I can't stand Maltbie.

I give Johnny Miller a 8.5/10 personally.
