Im having a really hard time playing these mid pairs

villains raise seems to me like a pair like JJ or TT or lower
im kinda lost here and cant really put villian on a hand

help please ?

Convert your hand please.

You bet $1 into a $4.5 pot on the flop, why?
Do you think this may be part of the reason he is raising you? I think when you bet that little into that big a pot there's a chance he's bluff raising you thinking that it doesn't look like you have much of a hand.

Had you bet something in the $3.5-$4 range any reaction from a villian will be more "pure".

Also reraising 88 from the SB when there's a limp and a raise is really marginal. I think a call here is better if you feel you have trouble playing mid pairs in 3-bet pots.
