Default Flop Decision 2k NL WSOP

Hi,

3rd level of the 2k from the other day. I've built up to about 7500 with a decently tightish image I'd imagine.

The player on my right is young and European, possibly German, and has been opening more pots than anyone so far. I've seen him 3 bet shove the flop twice, neither getting called or being showed. He covers.

He opens to 550 3 off the button and I call next up w/ A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. Everyone else folds and we take a flop HU.

8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] He bets 800.

Raise flop, be prepared to get all chips in.

Raise/call. There is some merit to calling, but considering he will be shoving any other FD. I like raise getting it in.

i'd raise to something like 2400 with the intention of calling a shove.

What's the plan if he calls the raise and you miss the turn?

Does that actually ever happen? If so I think that's a pretty good result for us, assuming he doesn't open allin on the turn when we miss. If he checks I'd be happy to check behind and save some chips when we miss.

Given how aggro he sounds, I think you have too much equity vs his 3bet range not to 3bet and try to get it in. While I don't think calling is [i]terrible[/], I definitely think 2500/call shove is better.
