Villain is 38/21/1.75 over a relatively small sample and pretty bad from what I've seen. He hit a 6 outer on the river against me earlier and stacked me. I've been pretty active on the table, raising in position etc.

You're in the same position that you were in on the flop. Either he's bluffing or not, because that's all you beat here given the action.

I'm not quite in the same position as I was on the flop. I now beat overpairs.

its a pretty good 3-barrel for him on this board, equally he could have a 9. I might call this time, you should post your previous hand if it gives any read on the player. Also since you both almost have 300bb, I am surprised you don't know more.

Im not sure about the flop and turn, but getting to the river as we did, I would call this. Its a really good river for him to bluff at, and given that you call turn with nothing but a 7 you are in the top of your range here. Also there aren't lots of hands containing a nine in his PF range.
