Default flopped set on flush board

Villian is a 33/19/2 over 78 hands....i seem to always have trouble playing sets on these kind of boards (3 card straight boards as well) not knowing if i should re-pop the flop and try to get it in there

do you think i made a mistake just calling the flop and letting a scare card come off on turn, instead of just trying to get it in there?

Raise flop, try to get it all in on the flop. As played the turn is close. I'd call and push river if I fill up.

Is there any merit to just calling the flop and shoving over a non-diamond on the turn? After all, he was betting pot into me. I actually put him on an A with a diamond kicker type hand.

Thats why you raise - if it's a good diamond kicker he will _never_ fold it. You really want your money in the middle in this spot and not give anyone a cheap chance to draw out on you.
