What have ppl\'s experiences been with WIRING money to the Rio?
So at the outset of the WSOP, there was a lot of talk about how hard it was to wire money to the Rio last year.
Curious about how things have worked out this year. a) How easy was it? b) more importantly, how FAST was it?? I'm going to try to wire some $ tomorrow...should it be there by early next week??? |

Re: What have ppl\'s experiences been with WIRING money to the Rio?
I wired 10K. When I got to the cage 3 weeks later, they said that it usually takes them 2 days to get the wire receipt. Mine was there, fortunately.

If you check TMDStone's blog (1st post I think) he talks about the problems he had in wiring money for the WSOP. Cliff notes is that it was a big hassle. http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showfl...;gonew=1#UNREAD

Re: What have ppl\'s experiences been with WIRING money to the Rio?
I wired money 3 days ago. I hadn't gotten any confirmation email or anything. So I called them and they told me that it takes 6 business days. Be patient
I have to say that I don't have that much confidence. It takes them a while to respond to emails. |

Re: What have ppl\'s experiences been with WIRING money to the Rio?
I posted something similar in B&M and TT said that there had been at least one case of the Rio losing a wire transfer. Plus the Rio is always kind of chaotic during tournament time. So I wired to the Bellagio instead, which I had good experiences with the couple of time that I did this before.
The cage lady at the Bellagio said a domestic wire transfer should generally take 1-2 business days, not counting weekends, so if you wire it tomorrow AM you should definitely be ok by Wednesday, probably by Tuesday, maybe on Monday if you're lucky. Don't know if this changes at different casinos. Also, when you're wiring money to a casino, be prepared for the bank teller to think you're the coolest person ever and spend about an hour talking with you about poker and upselling you on every product and service the bank has to offer. |

Re: What have ppl\'s experiences been with WIRING money to the Rio?
This is a very interesting question as I am right now about to make an international wire for the event #49 starting 30th Jun. I hope they don't screw this up. Keeping fingers crossed.

Re: What have ppl\'s experiences been with WIRING money to the Rio?
I pre-registered for Event #3 and wired the money. I received a payment confirmation e-mail about 3 days later (this was early May). But I was one that had a fairly hassle-free pre-registration and final registration (20 minutes max). So I ran good in that dept...not so much in the tourney.

No problems here either. Wired money and pre-registration info for #38. Got confirmation about 3 days later. Of course, this was in early May.
And the guy earlier was right about wiring money to a casino. Led to a solid 15 minute conversation with the bank lady. |

Re: What have ppl\'s experiences been with WIRING money to the Rio?
Oceans 11 wired the money for me to play the employee's event. I was preregistered but that didn't stop me from having to wait in the 5 hour "get a seat card" line. It took another 3 hours for the head lady in charge of the cage to find the money. She ended up having to physically walk to another section of the Rio and get the cash.
Possibly the fault of Oceans 11 but I'm not sure. In conclusion, overall pretty good time. |
