Default Early in the WSOP $5k NL Event vs. Alan Goehring with TT

First of all I want to say that I'm predominately a cash game player so my tendancies are usually to "get it in" and forget about "preserving my tournament life" etc.. etc.. but this spot kind of has me baffled.

Starting stacks were T10,000. I've dwindled to T6,600 after getting rivered and folding to 3bet squeezes and being shown aces etc.. etc.. and I'm probably visibly humiliated about having this shortstack in this deepstack tournament.

Blinds 100/200.
Ram Vaswani just gets to the table, and limps UTG, I raise to 800 with T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] from MP, Alan Goehring calls from the BB, Ram calls. Both players have me covered.

Flop: 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (pot=T2500)
Alan leads for T1000, Ram folds, I..?

Gotta shove.

You obviously can't fold your overpair+ flush draw with 5800 in your stack and 2500 in the pot.

Alan could have A9s, 9Ts, 89s, J9s(?), 78s, JJ, 88, 77, 55, 44, 66, 99, A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]X, or a made flush. You have enough equity against this range and you will have no idea where you are on any turn card if you smooth call.

Get the money in.

Also, mods should probably move this thread to HSMTT

First of all, I don't know anything about either player, do you? His small bet is definitely suspicious, and I wouldn't be surprised if he did this with a big flush already made. However, you don't have a lot of chips, and barring any special reads that would make you think he would only do this with a big hand, I think you have to shove your overpair, and you probably have outs if behind.

ship it all in. like cornell said, we're doin pretty well vs his range and there's a bunch of chips in the pot.

oh and don't worry about the tourney life mumbo jumbo. it's basically irrelevant until way deep in tourney.
