Default education and AC

AC's: What do you see as the ideal, market-driven solution to educating the children of truly uncaring or incompetent parents?

For the sake of discussion, take the example of the six-year-old son (IE, in theory, just about the right age to enter first grade) of a single mother who is both poor and addicted to crack. In ACland, crack will be legal and all education (healthcare too, I guess) will be privately funded. How should society handle the child's situation, if it should intervene at all? Or should he be left to his own devices?

[/ QUOTE ]Legal crack means even cheaper crack, which means mother soon ODs, leaves kid orphaned, kid winds up in orphanage of some foundation/charity, grows up, gets adopted by me do to him being extraordinarily tall, I make him play basketball, he gets signed to NBA, ESPN does story on him and me about how I rescued this poor disadvantaged orphan, he gets huge contract, I live comfortably for the rest of my life.

1) foster homes
2) Charity
3) profit

"Hey there's a poor kid with a cracked out poor mom that raises her son horribly"
"oh well, there's no state, so I magically don't care about problems with children anymore"

Also, be patient, I'm working on a few OPs concerning topics related to this.

I know this is a South Park reference, but these are mutually exclusive.

When was the last time anyone profited from giving to charity?
