education and AC
AC's: What do you see as the ideal, market-driven solution to educating the children of truly uncaring or incompetent parents?
For the sake of discussion, take the example of the six-year-old son (IE, in theory, just about the right age to enter first grade) of a single mother who is both poor and addicted to crack. In ACland, crack will be legal and all education (healthcare too, I guess) will be privately funded. How should society handle the child's situation, if it should intervene at all? Or should he be left to his own devices? |
