This doesn't really seem odd at all to me. With history I'll push for value. Otherwise you call.

Hands that go bet/check/call/bet out vs me come once or twice a month, tops, so far me, it's odd.

What hands can he realistically be betting into me with here that I can shove profitably vs?

FWIW, he took about 15 seconds before he bet.

Then he has KK, so you just call.

I think AK is FAR more likely here.

It just seems like a case where he is going to be actually bluffing so seldom that even getting over 2.5-1 may be a fold spot here. I can't see him vbetting KJ here, as I can't see him calling turn with it as there are no other draws, and any other 2 pair I figure I hear from on the turn, so this seems like AK an inordinate amount of time. In spots like this should I just go with the math and move on, forgetting about reads, or should I trust my reads if I have had success with them?

It sounds like there's an answer you want to hear. I just call here, I don't see any worse hands calling a raise so it's not worth the risk.

If you're trying to talk yourself into a fold, I don't like it. He could be making a blocking-bet with an A or KJ.

This seems to be a straight forward call.

Maybe it's even some weird blocker/value bet with AQ?
