Re: Play A Hand With The Triple Threat: Flop
Well, I think your pre-flop play was incorrect. And now you have no idea where you are at. UTG or UTG+1 could have you killed right now but you really have no idea.
I have to lead into this flop. Blah, I don't know what to do if you get smooth called or reraised or what though. You are now in a tough spot. I'd lead 4000 and reevaluate. Brad |

Re: Play A Hand With The Triple Threat: Flop
I see you called.
I'm going to assume your hand is the best. If your up against a higher set or UTG flopped a straight, well them are the breaks. I'd probably checkraise and try to get all my money in on the flop. There are too many turns cards that can kill your action or put you in a guessing game on fourth street or the river. Bruce |

Re: Play A Hand With The Triple Threat: Flop
check, with the intention of check raising allin. this is an extremely draw heavy board with potential to have hit either of the other players (i.e. AK, AJ, AQ, even QJ - less likely but possible, going broke even though). The only 4 hands you are behind are AA, KK, QJ and AhQh is a coin flip roughly. If they have AA or KK, then i'm going broke regardless, good for them. If they have QJ, then i need to suck out on them, good for them also. If they have the heart/straight draw, then i am getting my chips in while i have the best poker hand.
Basically, your going broke regardless, the question is c/r or lead out. If your confident one will take a stab at this pot then i c/r. If your not confident that they will lead out then i do. |

Re: Play A Hand With The Triple Threat: Flop
How would reraising BTF help if one of the villians called to define the hand? I thinks that is one of the most widely misused terms in poker.
If villian just calls hero's BTF raise does that mean he doesn't have a set of Aces or Kings? Reraising may have eliminated UTG but we may also not have gotten to see a flop if it were pushed BTF. Bruce |

Re: Play A Hand With The Triple Threat: Flop
Reraising to "see where you're at" is just bad with these stack sizes.

Just so everyone knows, I will only be replying to comments in the final post-flop thread. Thanks for taking the time to give your opinions.

Re: Play A Hand With The Triple Threat: Flop
I bet 3/4 to the pot here, trying to price out the flush / straight draws. Right now i cant see how i would give this hand up.
If you get reraised, push, there's no way im folding a set of tens here. If you get smooth called, just re-evaluate on the turn |
