Im not sure why you didnt lead or c/r the turn, but I would have (especially after leading the flop)

wow, that's a hard one to let go...i would raise more on the turn. but someone with more experience should tell you if push is right on the turn.
the way you play it, maybe villain has 9 with big kicker, or, offcourse, a flush, i don't think i'd like to find out neither [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]

I don't bet that flop, for sure, bet the turn hard.

the reason why I did not raise the turn is because I thought I was very much ahead at that point or very much behind if he had a boat (which is what I believe he had).

I am really not convinced he had a flush otherwise why would he bet the turn after I lead the flop?

Don't bet flop. Since you did, you need to lead the turn. Since you checked, you must raise the turn.

So, no, not standard at all.

Because it looks like you tried to take a stab at the pot and gave up when it failed. This is a good image to portray if you intend to check-raise, or to smooth call if you had the nuts and weren't worried about the river.

You have no way of knowing whether he had an overpair, a boat, two pair, flush draw, or even middle pair since you just called the turn.

Also, people will often bet flush / straight draws as semi-bluffs.

What was your plan on the river? Since you thought he had a full house, why not just fold the turn? Do you not expect him to bet big on the river?

I follow your reasoning when you show weakness while having trips, but then you should react agressively. Show weakness in order to get more in the pot when you're sure you're ahead, not if you consider folding.

As played, the river is a tough one indeed, since you look like you 've been on a draw, and he doesn't seem to respect that once you might have hit the flush.
