My thinking was that he was either just trying to buy the pot, he caught a weaker 10, or he was slow-playing some kind of big hand, and I was short-stacked enough that I thought it was worth the risk. |

Re: PS 6 + .50 Turbo - AT on the Bubble
pf is an easy push, the river I just call
cuz I don't think you get stronger hands to fold with a push. maybe some weaker hands will call. but still, it's the bubble and he covers you by far, so i'd just call it down. |

Re: PS 6 + .50 Turbo - AT on the Bubble
I'd push preflop, but as played definitely just call the river. Your hand has some showdown value and the only hands that will call your shove are hands that beat you.

I can't tell you how bad that river push is. No offense, but it just screams "I HATE MONEY!"

Re: PS 6 + .50 Turbo - AT on the Bubble
Is it really true that the only hands that will call will beat me? A lot of weaker 10's will probably call, right? And unless he was slow-playing some big hand, or maybe had T3,4,5, what hand could he really have that would beat me that he wouldn't have raised with PF?
I suppose it's possible he has JJ-AA and didn't want to just push me off pre-flop and wanted to extract value or something, which you'll see sometimes at these stakes. But it seems to me that if I push - Most of the time, he has nothing and folds. Some of the time, he has a weaker 10, small pocket pair, or smaller pair on the board and I double up. Some small amount of the time, he has a big hand and I bust. Not necessarily disputing what's been said here, but I am just trying to understand why pushing the river is so bad. |

Re: PS 6 + .50 Turbo - AT on the Bubble
It's not really THIS bad.
Depends on how you/he played before. Sure, he might call the river with JT. Would be a very ugly call, but he might do this. But why can't you just call, take a decent pot and have no risk of bubbling? If he has you beat, fine, just lost a little, if he bluffed ya or has a weaker T, fine as well. |

Re: PS 6 + .50 Turbo - AT on the Bubble
This is a PF push; plain and simple. The rest is moot.
You could play this hand perfectly everytime post-flop and it still wouldn't make up for not pushing pre-flop. Plug this into sngwiz. (Free trial for a month if you don't already have it) Good Luck. |

A lot of weaker 10's will not call for another 1800 chips..even at the 6.50's. Would you???
[ QUOTE ] ..what hand could he really have that would beat me that he wouldn't have raised with PF?... [/ QUOTE ] Next time, I wouldn't wait till the river to ask the question. |

Shove pre-flop.
Do not shove that river. |

Re: PS 6 + .50 Turbo - AT on the Bubble
pf is a raise, probably a push. Don't let small blinds limp into your BB when you have something decent. I'm raising (pushing) fairly wide here.
River just call. He's not laying down anything that has you beat (2 pr, the A2 for the str8), and probably not calling a weaker 10 and definately not a bluff. |
