Default NL400 - Turn c/r....yay or nay

Sorry, somehow lost the HH but heres the hand.

$500 Effective Stats

Dont remember specific stats but villain was a solid/thinking TAG

Thoughts on this play?

CO raises to $14
BU folds
Hero calls $12 with 66
BB folds

Flop: 445

Hero Checks
CO bets $22
Hero Calls $22

Turn: A

Hero Checks
CO bets $54
Hero raises to $170....

*Note: I would obv only be making this play against a thinking/competent villain - he prolly sees me as 18/15/3.5

If you can 2nd level him to think no one would ever bluff c/r this board when he's likely to have an A, therefore he folds kinda action then I guess. I'd like it better though on a 588 board where he's more likely to believe you have trips when defending the blind.

the 2nd level thinking u were talking about is exactly what i was doing - if he was a good player (which i thought he was) and he knew i was a winning player, then he would think that I would never c/r an A turn without having it beat because I would know that an ace makes up a very large portion of his range - but I have to ask why a 588 board is better than a 544 board?

This looks alright. Turn raise is very strong. He should even be able to lay down an A here, sometimes.

I'd most likely give up if called.

you have 33 here like 99% of the time. I wouldn't fold an ace.
