Default My big Carpal/Tunnel dissertation: Continuation bets

Hihi. Sorry.
So all the big guys continuation-bet all day long. But why do they do it? And how (alright, "how" does not belong in this forum)
For explanation: I have been playing a lot no-limit before where a Cbet is much more powerful.

So: why and how and when - and I want mathematical formulas here, please - are continuation-bets successful, meaning: profitable?
Cause I dont think there is enough publication out on this topic.

Continuation Bet + fold = good

But seriously, I have noticed lately people on here making way way way too many continuation bets where I really have no clue why they are betting.

your title is very misleading. I was so looking forward to YOUR dissertation on c-bets.

comon unter, you know full well that this question is like so broad. perhaps you should have a go at doing a compilation

I propose that you have a go at addressing c-bets with examples etc. if you dont I fear this thread will plummet into kitty pic territory

one day it would be nice to try to find spots where I CB and I don't feel good about it, and actually see how much FE I'm getting immediately, as well as on brick turns. But the sample would have to be enormous and it's a ton of work, so I haven't done it.

---------

A couple things I've been wondering about too:

1) Should I post in BB or CO, if I'm given the option when I first sit at a table (no rake, slightly loose aggro game).

2) A guy once told me that over 360k hands 99 > kk in his database. Is this a sample size thing or is it a problem with how he plays KK? There's approx 1630 hands of kk and equal 99 in the sample (at least, there should be). I figure KK is a hand with significantly less variance than 99, but I could be wrong.
