Re: Continuation bet or free card? AK .25/.50
If you 3bet in position and the feild checks to you I think a c-bet is mandatory. I don't think I've ever 3bet preflop and checked a flop if I was the last agressor with my 3bet. I didn't even look at this flop.
After looking at this flop. Bet you have an ISD, and two overcards. The bet may get you a peek at the river. So my previous statement stands. C-bet dat ish. |

Re: Continuation bet or free card? AK .25/.50
Given MP1's position he will often have a worse Ax or some pocket pair lower than J's that might find a fold, and you probably have 7 outs even if he's ahead. I don't know what SB has but I assume calling 3 semicold = doofus until I'm shown evidence to the contrary. Bet.

Re: Continuation bet or free card? AK .25/.50
3-bet preflop usually means I bet any flop, including this one, because we may fold a small pair and we have several outs if we don't. Depending on who calls, I'm either betting the turn UI and taking a free showdown or I'm checking the turn for a free card.

Re: Continuation bet or free card? AK .25/.50
easy bet. these guys stats say they arent particularly aggro so theyll check to the raiser alot and allow you to take a ride to freecardcentral (although I bet this time they CRed LDO). If theres a place to take a free card its when they check to you on the turn

Re: Continuation bet or free card? AK .25/.50
Wait a minute.
1. Cbetting here, because "I always cbet when I 3bet pf." is not the right approach I think. 2. Both villains PF stats are rather tight, so we can assume that at least one guy hit something on this flop. 3. Both villains AF stats are rather passive, so we can assume that if they hit something they will probably call. 4. I dont think, with this flop, there is any fold equity in cbetting. No way to take it down here. 5. You have 10 outs, maybe at most 7 of which are clean which gives you an equity of about 30% which is good b/c you are in position (so you might check the turn through). --- I agree that cbetting might be "natural" after 3betting before flop. But on this board with these opponents it is worth thinking about WHY to cbet. |
