1/2 goes every day. $100s play on the table. i'm pretty sure there's no cap on the buyin (maybe $500?) and there are some local rocks that are pretty solid players. others are there to gamble and have fun, but there's more money to be made/action players/fishies on the strip. their 2/5 NL goes off once in a while. it too is uncapped for sure and isn't too much different from the 1/2 action.

hope this helps.

All NL at Binions and the Nugget are uncapped.

Their cash games are much busier now due to their Classic event going on through June. Great event schedule, BTW.

When I was there in early May, the local degens were sitting with up to $9K behind in the 1/2 game.

It was hard because I never got cards, and there were 2 maniacs at the table making it 40 to go. So, obviously, the play was to limp or call raise with AA and double up. I never got anything for 3 hrs except QQ which was against someone who played AA as per above. But, yes, it would have been simple to double up with cards. Of course, there were 6 other guys at the table slow-playing AA & KK so you had to be careful

Is the issue that the $40 raisers were playing deepstack against the other local degens, or were they just crazy? If I'm sitting at a table with $9K and other $9K stacks are there, we're not playing against you. The side pot will more than make up the $200 I lose against a shorty tourist.

It was my impression that the multi-thousand 1-2 stacks were for display. I didn't think they were in play.

They are in play - that said, its unusual for pots to get large even when two big stacks are involved.

But I've personally played a few 1K+ pots in the Binion's game.

But its a weird game, you sit with 2-3K, and 2-3 other sit with 2K+, and the rest all have <200.

The 1/2 NL with no cap was the best NL game I ever played in there were some jerks in the game. There was a Craps boxman who always wears a suit and I think works at the Golden Gate who is just mean and arrogant but he seemed like a good player he had a stack of like 200 100$ bills in front of him. But the games are juiiiiicy !!!
