Default How close has poker even come to breaking you (semi-serious)?

I probably won't bet any serious answers. But how close have you come to quitting the game for good. How horrible were you feeling psychologically and what caused it?

I only ask because I've been having some swingy days lately and it might be a comfort + some interesting reading.

I never feel that bad after a big losing session, pretty much as soon as I get away from the computer, open up a beer/ hang out with girlfriend/ lift some weights (or more recently) pwn Wii bowling Im pretty fine. What gets me is if I have spent 4 hours multitabling (which, when finished makes me feel like I have been through an advanced mental examination) and the only thing I have to show for it is a graph with a dip larger than my entire profits for the entire previous week, its pretty annoying but most of the time it just drives me to wanting to put in a winning session, Im probably less degen are most of the people here but (adding to the fact is I aint doing this pro) the winnign and losing is much less about the money, much more about the whole old analogy of keeping score
If the swings really effect you then you should put a stop loss on (depends what amount lifetilts you) and if that doesnt help then think about moving down to where the games are less swingy
