Default was this the right play? NLTRN

I've been playing this guy in heads up games for the past hour, hes a pretty solid player, aggressive yet usually folds when I fire back strong. Should I have checked the river? bet the turn? Tell me if this was a bad play.

I would recommend firing on the turn, i.e. bet 1/2 pot and then check the river if he calls the turn bet. He's probably sitting on either trip 2's or higher 2 pair. Either way, I think you're beat here. As played, I'd fold the river too.

Full marks if you were going for a check/raise on the turn.

Otherwise, bet turn.

Since you checked, snap off river bluff rather than leading.
