Yuck. You need to figure out a way to get more money in somehow.

I assume (or hope) you were going for a c/r on the turn. That line is pretty decent, and it whiffed...oh well. What are you doing on the river, though? You sould almost always lead here, and the times you decide to get fancy (mostly because of villain's high aggression), you must check-raise for value.

Why did you play it this way?

I would have bet turn and called a push. Having the turn checked through I would have bet $17-$21 on the river. After not betting the river I c/r mostly because I think this is letting him off easy if he has a showdownable hand. I at least check/min raise here.

Here's my reasoning:

When he calls my 3bet pre-flop his range is heavily weighted towards pocket pairs. When he calls my cbet his range is further narrowed to most likely a set or an overpair to the board as well as a stupidly played AK (although doubtful, since the table was quite weak/tight). This leaves JJ/QQ that we beat and could get value from by betting the turn or river. Everything else he would most likely fold to any further bet. Some of what he folds might try to take a stab at the pot on the river, though.

I think the whole "he's folding all worse hands" argument is pretty much useless against a 47/7 opponent, especially in a 3-bet pot on a board with no broadway cards.

This villain could easily put you on AK and stack off with a hand like 88.

[/ QUOTE ]I think his range is weighted towards anything he raised with, he doesn't look like the kind of player that would fold a hand he raised with. I don't care what action happens I'm not considering folding KK in a reraised pot to this guy.

He folded to most cbets so far. People always make the mistake of labeling someone with high limping frequency as a post-flop calling station when they clearly aren't.

he doesnt look to be a calling station he's fairly aggressive postflop but passive preflop. After he calls the flop I'm putting him on a pocket pair a ten or AK/AQ.
he may fold the turn sometimes but betting may be best on the turn depending on your image. I don't mind the turn check as long as you do something on the river (bet or c/r that small bet).
