I like to think of it this way, if a player is good, do u think he'd be playing micro stakes?

If he's broke and wants to practice bankroll management/wants to prove to himself he can beat terrible players/wants to start from ground up, it's quite possible.

At 25NL/50NL on FTP there are a number of decent players.

I remember a couple of regulars I'd see once in a while back when I was playing there, but I think most of them have moved up to 25NL by now.

You'll usually recgonize the grinders when you see their stats.

A regular will typically have stats like

VPIP: 15-25
PFR: 12-20
AF: 2-7

If you see someone who are like 15/12/4 or 20/17/3, then that is very unlikely to be a fish.

Although don't be so quick to think they're god's gift to poker. Most of these guys are bad TAG's, but some are ok.

lol I'm not saying they are particulary good, I'm just saying they are not one of the fish, and winning players at the level (we all know that doesn't mean very much though)

When I play from 10pm to 2am, all of my tables have at least 30% vpip and pretty big pot sizes.

Most of the bad TAG's are nits that are pretty exploitable, though.
