Default So you have to show cards to camera?

Just wondering, if you make it to a WSOP final table do you have to show your cards to the hole cam? I can't see any reason I'd actually do this/any way I could be forced to do this? I also can't see anyway I'd make it to the final table, but that's for another topic.

Don't you have to sign a few things when you register for the event? I'm sure it's in there.

I remember watching Erik Seidel looking at the cards in a way that the cam didn't get them (like not letting light in so that the cam couldn't catch anything)

emmpee - I don't know, I've never played in the WSOP

Sapol -that's exactly what I'm talking about...Is this allowed?

By the way, the subject was supposed to be "DO you..." not "SO you.."

No. You only have to show them to Drew Barrymore.

If you show them to the camera, everyone will know you collude with and dump chips to your father.

From what i understand yes you HAVE to. In fact i have heard that is a few instances they way players were looking at their cards the cameras were not able to see them clearly(whether intentional or not on the players part) and they were told that thye needed to look at their cards differently as the cameras could not see them well enough.

I would be interested if someone can tell us definitively whether you actually sign something indicating that you are entering a tournament knowing your obligations include showing cards to the hole cam or if people feel compelled to show them after being berated by an ESPN producer into doing it.

My gut tells me it is the latter.

Unless you were to win the tournament, in which case it might be bad for your image and hurt your marketability, I would think American players have almost nothing to gain from this. I guess they could sue you if you sign a contract though. Without a contract I joyfully tell the ESPN producer to go screw him or herself.
