Default Cunningham: Not Beating...Joining?

What the hell is THIS??!:

(From Pokerpages)
Players are taking a break at the end of level 1. One player getting an extra-long break is Allen Cunningham. In the first orbit of play today, he tangled with Frank Kassela. Frank raised to 150 under-the gun and Allen (on his left) re-raised to 500. Frank called and they took the flop of T 9 4 with one club. Frank checked and Allen fired 700, which Frank called. The turn put a second club on the board and Frank led with 200. Allen moved all in (he still had most of his 10k starting stack) and Frank called -- Frank had him covered by one 25 chip. Allen showed Kc Qc for the flush draw with two overcards. Frank rolled over 9c 7c for second pair with a worthless flush draw. River was an offsuit 7, giving Frank an unneeded second pair and giving Allen the rest of the day off. Frank is currently sitting on about 24,000 chips.

There is enough play in the structure of this tournament so that you might assume that a player of Cunningham's caliber wouldn't feel the need to play this kind of poker, don't you think?

Note to Obvious Man: Yes, it's an inane call, and yes, Cunningham's push is likely to win him the pot an awful lot of the time. But damn--if the guy's got a set or 9T (or even an overpair), you need to keep yourself in action, right?

Look at that horrific donk bet on the turn. It's uber-weak and Cunningham picked up a monster draw. Yeah, he could (should) have raised a smaller amount though, if he wants to raise there I think.

Gutshot + Two Overs + Flush Draw = Double up, make him fold, or go home..

I highly doubt that AC thought his K or Q outs would be live if he got called. In fact, that is the reason that he pushed.

The play does seem a bit uncharacteristic of him. It was clearly an opportunity cost play.

Which event is this in? Was it the first event?

Must have been, since it mentions a 10K starting stack.

Then there's no way that it was an 'opportunity cost' play unless the big game was going with 7 idiots, because there wasn't another open event that day.

It seems apparent that he has no faith in those six outs.

I suppose if he had thought they were good, he would be value betting closing the action against what he had to assume was a single pair (with a provision to fold if reraised out of his seat).

But otherwise, it's a pretty lazy and/or bad play, depending upon what we see as his motivation (or lack thereof).
