Re: nut flush how to extract more $$
Bet the flop. Fairly coordinated flop: someone will chase a draw or call with a worse pair and the strength of your hand is hidden.

Re: nut flush how to extract more $$
checking flop is ooooooookkkkkkkkkk (but you don't have to)
raise turn I'd bet $12 on the river. you might get a call from a straight considering you were so passive but you're mostly hoping to get money from lower flushes and minimise losses vs a FH. |

Re: nut flush how to extract more $$
I like to bet the flop in this situation. Many times people won't give you credit and will call or raise with a pair thinking you just have the Ace of spades. If you check and then raise on the turn it is much more suspicious. If you take the line of the OP, you don't build a pot. I bet the flop and hope somebody has something worth figthing for.

Re: nut flush how to extract more $$
grunch
At 50nl, I imagine villains are expecting a cbet, and not cbetting, even into 3 opponents, is scary to them. I make it a smallish cbet, around $5.50. More draws and lower pairs will call the flop than will call the turn, and you'll be setting yourself up for a huge pot by the river. Bet flop, raise turn, bet river (as played, $12 looks good to me) |

Re: nut flush how to extract more $$
How to extract money? Bet, bet, bet some more.
Seriously, don't always expect villains to have marginal hands that they won't call with. If you flop a monster like this you should try to maximize the pot size, so for the times that some villain has a strong hand, he'll gladly send his stack your way. By slowly extracting a few extra BBs for the times villains have little, you give up massive amounts of chips for the times villain has a solid hand that he's simply not capable of laying down. Sure, often you'll lead out and take the pot down straight away, but there will be enough occasions when some monkey with K hi will call, or two pair/sets/straights will gladly give up a huge chunk of their stacks. |

Re: nut flush how to extract more $$
Checking the flop pretty much put a cross on your ability to play for stacks here unless they hit a boat on you. If you flop a big hand you want to play for stacks. And the only way to play stacks is put in significant amounts of money on the flop. Pots in holdem grow exponentially. Every dollar invested the flop may bring you up to 7 by the river.
Exmaple one: 50NL 100BB stacks You raise preflop with AsKs, viallin calls. You flop nuts. Villain drawing with a Q of spades. Pot $4.5. Flop. You check. Villain checks. Pot $4.5. Say turn bricks. You bet $4. Villain calls. Pot $13. River. Case a) River bricks 85%. You bet $9, Villain folds. You make $4 profit with your nuts. Case b) River spades 15%. You bet $9, Villain raise to $25, you push, villain folds. You make $29 with your nuts. Profit $7.75 average. Example two: 50NL 100BB stacks You raise preflop with AsKs, viallin calls. You flop nuts. Villain drawing with a Q of spades. Pot $4.5. Flop. You cbet $3.5. Villain calls. Pot $11.5. Say turn bricks. You bet $7. Villain calls. Pot $25.5. River. Case a) River bricks 85%. You bet $8, Villain folds. You make $10.5 profit with your nuts. Case b) River spades 15%. You bet $8, Villain pushes. You make $50 with your nuts. Profit $16.5 average. |

Re: nut flush how to extract more $$
great post corsakh - please expand into a PB post using the same teaching method (examples).
with this post there is the caveat that villain may not call the 2barrel, but i think the point was just to show how important geometric pot growth is. |
