BTW, before throwing out this gem here, try and put the villain on a hand that Raises the flop, checks the turn and then leads the river.

bet the the turn? That's so horrible. Wow, Villian c/raises all in and we have to fold, or villian folds everything we beat. How is betting the turn have any value???

Well I said, after calling the c/raise on the flop, getting a free card on the turn, and re-evaluating the river... his river bet looks like he holds Kx, Jx, flopped a set, or a busted draw... QT Ax spades could very well be in his range here.

What ever happend to betting for information? The guy has a problem on the river because the turn went chk chk.

because there is no value in it, better hands will call you and you just wasted a bet. worse hands will fold. you will never make money (not much anyways). you need to let people call/raise you with worse hands. at least thats my take
