100NL: limp/reraise with KK, villian pushes
Hand before this I took down a $75 pot with aces.
Villian I have seen around the tables before, and he was playing 8-9 tables at the time of this hand. is this a good laydown, a standard laydown, or a bad laydown? This whole thing is pretty horrible. Why the limp/raise, why are you folding?

Re: 100NL: limp/reraise with KK, villian pushes
i had been at the table for about 15 minutes and was seeing a lot of flops and playing very fast before and after - pretty much running over the table. i know the villian is a nit - should that lead me to believe he is over-valuing AK, QQ, JJ, given my table image?

[/ QUOTE ] all the more reason to call. you limp rr'ed to induce action; you got it so push. |

Re: 100NL: limp/reraise with KK, villian pushes
does anyone think that given hero's image, villain is more likely to call w/AA/KK and push w/QQ/JJ. (sorry for the double post, it wouldn't let me edit. )

I actually don't mind the limp reraise, but the fold's a bad play. Players at this level push anything from AK-AQ on down to TT..

Re: 100NL: limp/reraise with KK, villian pushes
This isn't as straightforward as everyone is making it out to be. A limp-reraise looks strong so if he had AA I think he might play back like this thinking hero is strong enough to call a shove.
That being said, if you've really developed an image of running over the table this is exactly what you want and should call. be wary of overvaluing your image though, this is something that has led me to make bad calls in the past and if he's 8-9 tabling he probably isn't paying too much attention to the recent table dynamics. |

Re: 100NL: limp/reraise with KK, villian pushes
great point johnes, inre: villian not paying too much attention.
i thought about it after while having a smoke and figured that yeah, he might push with a lesser hand there. i actually got the reaction i wanted, I just didnt pull the trigger. anyone else on the table and i call, i guess i really just thought he had AA there. |
