Default How bad is diet soda?

Seems like all serious health nuts drink only water. How bad is a few diet sodas a week? Is Perrier/sparkling water better or worse?

What's a few? 1 a day? Every other day? Probably not that big a deal, but you are probably not getting enough salt if you can't stop.

I'm pretty sure like every American gets plenty of salt...

I dunno, virtually every prepared food you can buy (including drinks) has salt in it, and a high percentage of them have a LOT of salt. It's pretty hard not to have enough salt these days unless you eat a much better diet than most everybody and spend a lot of time in the heat sweating like a pig.

I have seen no conclusive evidence that proves that diet soda is ridiculously bad for you with regard to health effects. Is water better? Of course, but none of us are perfect.

other than messing up your teeth is there really anything bad about it?

I have never really heard anything about how it was bad. Especially ones made with splenda.

Hmmm, I thought it had more salt than it does. I went from 4 or 5 bottles a day to 1 or 2 bottles a week and it doesn't take long to get over the fizzy. The biggest difference I notice between diet pepsi and water is that I don't feel full when drinking soda like I do when drinking water.

i'm willing to wager we'll all die younger for some reason relating to the fact that we've consumed 200+ diet sodas a year for so many years.
