Default Ace King - So i miss the flop again

Limit: $2/$4
8 players

Pre-flop: (8 players) Hero is UTG with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
Hero raises, 4 folds, Button calls, SB folds, BB calls.

Flop: 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (6.5SB, 3 players)
BB bets, Hero ????

I have been thinking about the all powerfull preflop hand commonly known as "Ace-King" recently.
Great hand preflop that often brings difficult post flop decisions.

In the above hand my usual line would be to raise for 2 reasons:
A - to try force out the button
B - i have good position on the flop donk bettor

But i have been 2nd guessing myself lately.

Given that AK on this flop is merely a draw to a medium strenght hand, namely top pair, is calling a bettor option?

Thoughts amigos?

A weakly played AK or KQ perhaps?
Does raising here not improve my winning chances and buy some outs?

KQ is way behind us (drawing to 3 outs), so we don't really need to worry about it.

we only buy outs with a raise if villain has AJ/KJ/A7/K7/A3/K3 *and* he will fold his hand for a raise *and* we spike an A or K.

without some sort of read, this is closer to a fold than a raise.

I don't know if I have evern raised AK UI on the flop. I think I should be wary of that.

That said, I don't think this is one of those times. If the pot was a bit bigger maybe.

ok seriously:

a) we are quite likely ahead of him, as his range includes flush draws, straight draws etc.
b) button folding is a good thing
c) metagame - so he doesnt bet in to us next time
d) we can buy a free card and almost certainly have at least a decent amount of equity to catch up
