Funny 42s spot

My second session in Vegas is a Bellagio 30 game. The first one the morning before was an unreal 30 game, chock full of 3 bet coldcallers with QTo. The best action I've ever seen higher than 20. This session turned out to be, hard to believe but better.

I post missed blinds in the CO and get 42s. A raise from EP and practically the whole table, at least 6 players including another poster in MP, is in. I call. The button 3 bets.

Button is Boris, some short gray haired guy known to the table. He's blown through about 3-4K in the short time I've been sitting.

BB 4 bets. It's 2 more back to me, we're 8 way and I call. Boris caps so we go to the flop 8 way for a 5 bet cap. Can't make this stuff up.

You're in my spot. Standard or where do you find the fold?

I think you have to fold to the preflop 5-bet. 40-1 is not quite enough IMO.

I'd bet if you had my hand you'd have won the pot. I was stunned after the hand and felt like hanging myslef for not attacking it. It was there for the taking. So bad it's hard to describe.

Flop A 9 4 rainbow. Checked to me. I'd love to see the turn for free and feel smart for avoiding the mandatory cheezy c/r someone surely has to be waiting for if I bet. Button ch's also. Ugly.

Turn a non picture brick. Someone in EP bets, a couple of calls, I'm in "How can I fold now?" mode so me and button call.

River another non picture brick. Ch'd around. BB tables K9 to take it down. Button the fool had -------- 77.

I thought I was playing the hand right and realized, had I actually brought my testicles with me on the trip, I probably could've taken that baby home. Oh well.

Horrendous poker but good times. Things got better.

Are you serious? I don't think there's any line that results in you winning this pot. You got the best possible result the way you played it.

Perhaps raising the turn would have done the trick.
