Default Expert Play 7 left in WPT Mandalay Bay.

7 handed, blinds 10k 20k, 3k antes.

BB is chipleader, but doesn't play back at me much, SB has been playing ridiculously tight.

Folded to Hero who limps on the button with 72o. SB shoves all in, folded to Hero who calls for 100k more.

Thoughts?

I don't think the call is right. If my math is right you're getting 181:100 on the call, so we'd need like 35.6% equity. 72o vs a random hand hand only has 34.584% equity, and he's probably pushing tighter than 100%. Also if the BB hasnt been playing back a lot, why not raise if you're going to play the hand.

Seems terrible for obvious reasons. Is there a twist, context or complicated defense for the play or is this thread just a "haha, I wasted 20 seconds of your time."

Live Blog

Thayer Rasmussen limps from the button and David Levi in the small blind moves all-in for 101,000. Jared Hamby in the big blind fold and Thayer calls.

Levi shows AA and Thayer has 72. The table and crowd laugh at the match up. The TD then annouces that the flop comes deuce-deuce-seven follwed by a quick "Just Kidding!" and once again the players and railbirds laugh.

The flop really comes KQ3 and Thayer is way behind but on a flush draw. The turn is a K and river is a J. Levi survives and doubles up to over 200,000.

What are your stack size, the BB's stack size and the average stack?

I don't think you have odds to call, particularly since SB is playing tight. Is the purpose to convince people you won't fold after opening preflop?

Also, what is the point of the open limp? Do you have to open every hand from the button? No wonder the BB is playing back at you.

I know this is a delayed steal, but is this really a hand you want to see a flop with. If you don't want to open fold, this seems like the kind of hand you want to raise/fold with. Limp with some kind of weak high cards or suited gapper that you don't mind seeing a flop with.
