i don't think you can open shove 4k approx into a 1400 pot without looking crazy...
c/r allin? he's going to bet, and maybe you can get him to lay down w/ a c/r if he has tens or jacks (maaaaaybe) |

Re: Early battle with another big stack, take the flip?
c) Check/call, turn, shove.
d) Bet 500, raise, shove. e) Bet 1500, raise all-in, call. f) Shove. So I guess we need to figure villain's holding and go from there. AK would be good, AQ would be better. In this case, we would want to get all-in so e) and f) are probably wrong. If he had AA we are in the worst shape. He will likely be all-in regardless of what we do. With KK we are not too bad. Any of the above would be good. If he has 99-QQ, we are looking really good so we want to ease him into getting all his chips in the pot. I think only AA is what we are worried about and even then we some pot equity. 88 or 66 or 86 are highly unlikely. I don't think he is holding a hand that we want him to fold so e) and f) are probably fruitless. That is, he will fold AK or AQ which is what we don't want. I vote for check/call shove or checkraise/shove depending on the amount of his bet. |

This certainly seems like a check-raise situation. He probably fires 1200, in which i'd check-raise allin.. If he bets less you can 3x it to show ur committed.

I like a checkraise too, hes almost def gonna bet it and then you can move in. You've got outs even if he has an overpair and he should be laying down AK and stuff like that.

With a very slight advantage like that you want some fold equity. Check raising the flop is my favorite play there. You win 100% of the time when he folds |
