Hand from Sunday Million
I have a little over 29k at the start of the hand. Was just wondering if anyone had any thoughts about the preflop play. On flop i guess i coulda bet more but he's not going anywhere with his hand and i wanted to induce a raise, but preflop im thinking i shoulda reraised, try and get it heads up.
Blinds are 400-800 *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to Hero [Kc Ks] UTG: folds UTG+1: raises 1200 to 2000 UTG+2: folds MP: folds Hero: calls 2000 CO: folds Button: folds SB: folds BB(Villain): calls 1200 *** FLOP *** [3d Qs 9s] Villain: checks UTG+1: checks Hero: bets 3200 Villain: raises 13075 to 16275 and is all-in UTG+1: folds Hero: calls 13075 *** TURN *** [3d Qs 9s] [Kd] *** RIVER *** [3d Qs 9s Kd] [5h] *** SHOW DOWN *** Villain: shows [Js Ts] (a straight, Nine to King) Hero: shows [Kc Ks] (three of a kind, Kings) Villain collected 39400 from pot |

Re: Hand from Sunday Million
Reraise preflop to 6k. When you flat call your letting BB to get great odds to call and I prefer playing KK in heads up pot.
This is a draw heavy flop so I would bet like 3/4 pot and obv call the shove. |

Re: Hand from Sunday Million
stack sizes are helpful here; i dont feel like adding it up.

Re: Hand from Sunday Million
I had little over 29k, UTG+1 had about 14k, and Villain had little over 18k.
I like the reraise to 6k approach, because the initial raiser probably would of either folded or pushed in, which is much nicer than taking a flop with kings. |

Re: Hand from Sunday Million
I would re-raise it pre-flop, maybe to 5k or so

Re: Hand from Sunday Million
You reraise PF for two reasons.
1) You want to get heads-so so you don't want to tempt the blinds by giving them good pot odds by merely calling. 2) You are very, very, very likely ahead of the orginal raiser and you want to either get him to put more money in while you are ahead or fold. With this strong a hand, you prefer the former to the later so dont go crazy with the raise, 3x his raise seems right so 6000. |

Re: Hand from Sunday Million
Reraise preflop is clutch, original raiser definitely calling with a lot of his range, he's probably calling most aces, most pairs, maybe even hands like KQs and QJs... once you see the flop though, you just got unlucky that he had THAT hand. Does he make the same push with KQ... TQ?

Re: Hand from Sunday Million
re raise preflop, you are giving the BB great odds with ATC, as played bet the pot on the flop to avoid draws

Re: Hand from Sunday Million
Reraise preflop to ~5k. Flop is fine. Next time river a boat. Also don't post results and provide the stack sizes for every player.
